In Virginia, a multiple DUI offender has been charged with killing a 66-year-old Catholic not and also injuring two other individuals during a DUI accident over the weekend.
23-year-old Carlos A. Matinelly Montano was supposedly driving under the influence when he hit another vehicle that had been transporting three nuns. Sister Jeanette Marie Mosier, who was riding in the backseat, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Sister Charlotte Lange and Sister Connie Lupton had to be flown to a nearby hospital and were listed in critical condition.
Prior to the accident, the nuns had been heading to Bristow for an annual spiritual retreat when Montano hit a barrier, entered their lane, struck another barrier and then crashed right into their car.
Montano was charged with his third DUI in the past five years. He was also charged with involuntary manslaughter and driving on a license revoked for DUI related reasons.
