Men Involved in Massive Drug Ring Are Convicted
Four men involved in a massive drug ring were convicted this week in Sacramento, California for drug crimes. They had been involved in the trafficking of methamphetamine, crack cocaine, cocaine, and heroin in Stockton, Sacramento, and outside the state, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of California.
The four men - Jose Gonzalez Arias, 39; Jose Antonio Ojeda Cabada, 57; Victor Manuel Martinez, 41; and Jesus Alphonso Barraza, 27 - were found guilty of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and conspiracy to distribute by a federal jury in Sacramento. In addition Cabada and Martinez were found to be guilty of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Hidden compartments in vehicles were used to transport the drugs and cash across state lines, stated U.S. Attorney's Office Spokeswoman Lauren Horwood. In the crackdown Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force agents found 70 grams of crack cocaine, 210 grams of meth and 13 kilograms of cocaine, along with a hydraulic press that is standard when creating bricks of cocaine.
