Truck Driver Who Caused Accident Believed to be DUI
When a school bus and a truck collided in Norwalk on Monday three people were injured. However, the only victim taken to the hospital was the driver of the truck, who was also believed to be under the influence.
The crash happened around 2:40 PM on East 166th Street and Clarkdale Avenue, prompting firefighters to respond to the accident. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Don Kunitomi only two students were mildly injured. He did not know the extent to which the driver had been injured at the time of the accident, nor was he releasing information about which school the students attend.
A few hours later the driver was identified as 35-year-old Roman Garcia. He was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center where he was treated for lacerations to his shoulder and arm.
