Lief Garrett to Enter Rehab Program
According to the Associated Press, former teenage idol Lief Garrett played no contest this month to charges of heroin possession in Los Angeles. Now, the former singer will have to enter a drug rehabilitation program.
48-year-old Garret was placed under arrest by police in February after officers found him carrying drugs in a Los Angeles subway station. Back in the 1970s, he had been subjected to several drug crime arrests during the height of his fame.
If Garrett completes all of the terms of the treatment program, his case could be dismissed within 18 months time. His attorney said, "I just think this is in everybody's best interests." It has also been said that Garrett will work with Dr. Drew Pinsky and is slated to appear on the next season of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
