Matt Barnes Charged with Domestic Violence
Recently, it was reported that the forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, Mat Barnes, was placed under arrest for felony domestic violence. The NBA player was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail reported The Sacramento Bee.
Barnes, a well-known Sacramento native, signed his contract with the Lakers this past summer. He was placed under arrest by law enforcement after they responded to an incomplete 911 call and found Barnes and a woman were involved in a fight. A police spokesperson said that the woman was living with Barnes and the two were involved in a dating relationship.
Officers reported that both Barnes and the woman had injuries, but it appeared that the basketball player had been the aggressor and had even tried to prevent the woman from calling 911. Barnes was also charged with maliciously obstructing the use of the telephone line. After his arrest, he was released after posting $50,000 bond.
