Man Facing Drug Possession Charges
A man from California is being held on drug possession charges in northern Arizona and the case against him is strong.
When officers first pulled the 46-year-old man over, it was for a routine traffic violation. However, he gave officers reason to become suspicious of his activities, prompting a call to the drug detection canine unit. Several dogs were brought in and they located a serious amount of drugs in his vehicle. In total, 2.6 pounds of methamphetamine were discovered. This amount is estimated to have a street value of at least $47,000.
The suspect is currently being held on multiple charges, including possession of a dangerous drug, transportation of a dangerous drug, DUI drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is currently being held at a Navajo County jail on $150,000 bond.
