Gang Member Arrested for Drug Possession

On Friday, police in Santa Cruz arrested a suspected gang member on a felony drug warrant during the morning hours.

Officers took Guillerino Linares into custody and say that he is an affiliate with the Mara Salvatrucha street gang.  Police from the Santa Cruz Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Santa Cruz Police Detectives and County Anti-Crime Team were running surveillance of the area near Campbell Street when they spotted Linares.

At 8:00 AM the 39-year-old was arrested for being in possession of cocaine as well as on a felony warrant for selling cocaine.

Also known as William Flores, Linares is currently wanted by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents.  ICE started searching for Linares when they learned about his drug deals and gang affiliation.
