Man Caught with Weapons on Flight
A man attempting to board an Alaskan Airlines flight was found to have a derringer handgun and ammunition in his baggage.
According to Sgt. Belinda Nettles of the Los Angeles Airport Police, 53-year-old Timothy Geisen was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon. The two items were found by airport police when Geisen's bag went through the security scanner. A spokesman for the Transportation Safety Administration, Nico Melendez, commented on the arrest, saying that "it happens more frequently than you would think." On average, about two handguns per day are discovered in baggage across the country.
While most people claim to have simply forgotten about the handguns in their possession, it is not yet determined why Geisen still had his.
