UNLV Senior Forward Facing DUI Charges
The UNLV basketball team is no stranger to legal woes: this is the second season in a row that one of their players has gotten into a spot of trouble.
This year the player in question is Chace Stanback, a senior forward for the team, who was arrested last week onDUI charges. Police reports show that Stanback was stopped at Swenson St. and Colby Ave. around 2:23 a.m. for speeding. However, when the responding officers asked for insurance, he had none; they also realized that he was under the influence of alcohol. After administering the standard field sobriety tests, the officers arrested Stanback.
He was later released and is expected to appear in court on Aug. 11. Since being notified about the arrest, coach Dave Rice will look into the matter further, and could possibly issue disciplinary action. This could prove to be a serious test for the coach who is in the first year of his tenure at UNLV.
