Murder Conviction Overturned

A man who was convicted of murder in 1995 has had that conviction overturned after being behind bars for 17 years. The man was released four days after the judge overturned the conviction, reuniting with his teary family.

Upon his release, the man said that he maintained his faith in God while in prison and sustained himself by reading self-help books. He said that he feels no anger and still believes in the justice system.

The man was convicted of a murder that occurred in 1995 outside of a city brothel. The conviction was overturned when it was determined that the star witness in the trial, a pimp, had lied to the jury. The witness now says that he never saw the shooter responsible for the crime.

The man who was convicted of the murder was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He maintained his innocence during the trial and still does. The actual murderer remains at large. It remains unclear whether or not the pimp will be charged with perjury for his false testimony.
