Man Arrested for Making Terror Threats

A man in Los Angeles, California was arrested one day before the tenth anniversary of September 11 for making terror threats on a city bus. The man allegedly boarded the bus late on Saturday evening carrying a bag with exposed wires. The man threatened the driver and passengers, claiming that he had a bomb in the bag.

One passenger on the bus reports that the bag which the middle-aged man carried had green and grey wires protruding from it and an object which appeared to be a countdown device. When authorities arrived on the scene the bus was evacuated and the man was taken into custody on terror and weapon charges. After four hours of examination, it was determined that the bag and its contents were in fact harmless.

In related news, a terminal to the Kansas City, Missouri airport and the airport's main access road were shut down on September 11 when a screener noticed a suspicious item in a carry-on bag. The owner of the bag was reportedly uncooperative, further raising suspicion and causing airport authorities to take the man into custody and to call the bomb squad.
