Hollywood Murder Leaves Man Dead, Shocks Tourists

Late Sunday, a brazen murder took place on the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Las Palmas Blvd, leaving a 30 year old man dead and a suspect on the run until his capture early Monday morning.

The shooting took place close to midnight in front of a crowd of Hollywood club goers. Two shots rang out, hitting the victim in the head and torso. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he later died. The murder appears to be gang related.

The violence has exacerbated a long standing complaint levied by local business about the rise in violent crime and the need for more police presence in the area. The businesses contend that the clubs surrounding their locations are bring in dangerous people to the neighborhood, both hurting their business and endangering the tourists who walk down the boulevard.
